Since its inception, the Society has remained a symbol of unity, resilience, and collective progress for the fishing community of Karachi and coastal Sindh.
The Fishermen’s Cooperative Society was established with a clear vision: to promote the welfare of fishermen, protect their rights, enhance their livelihoods, and strengthen their role in the sustainable development of Pakistan’s fisheries sector. Today, as we navigate new challenges and opportunities, our mission continues to focus on improving the socio-economic well-being of our members while ensuring the responsible and sustainable use of marine resources.
Under the guidance of our esteemed Board of Directors and with the dedication of our management and staff, the Society is striving to bring transparency, efficiency, and accountability to all its operations. We are committed to modernizing our systems, upgrading fish landing sites and auction halls, and introducing fair and inclusive practices in governance and business management.
Our fishermen are the backbone of the coastal economy, and their welfare remains at the heart of every decision we make. The Society is working to strengthen community-based initiatives, promote skill development, and ensure better working and living conditions for our members. Environmental sustainability and climate resilience are also integral to our agenda, as we recognize the urgent need to protect our oceans and ensure the long-term viability of the fisheries sector.
